Feb. 15: Presidents

There's something satisfying in combining a Bernstein operatic cantata and a new emo-rock musical, because the songs are both about Presidents coming to terms with a crisis in the country.

The second half of "Crisis Averted" is in the episode about racism: it's the yuppie-sounding couple saying that they definitely don't condone what he did to the Indians (Trail of Tears), although they did like that they could move to Florida, 'cuz "It IS nice that it doesn't snow." Apologies to composer Michael Friedman.
